0 New Bajaj Discover 135 C.C

Bajaj seems to have a Discover 135 C.C in mind

The above picture that you see is claimed to be of a 135 C.C Bajaj Discover. The news and the picture was downloaded from India's leading biking forum, XBhp.Com.

"Bajaj now has motorcycles ranging from...
100 C.C, 112 C.C, 125 C.C, 135 C.C, 150 C.C, 180 C.C, 200 C.C, 220 C.C..!!"

Bajaj already has two models of the Discover range, i.e. a 112 C.C and a 125 C.C model. And now it seems Bajaj has another 135 C.C in mind. Bajaj clearly wants to plug the gap between the 125 C.C Discover and its 150 C.C Pulsar before another company can come up to fill this void.

"With such 10-15 C.C increments, Bajaj is in real danger of confusing the customer.."

The specs of the new 135 C.C Discover isn't clear as yet. But from the pics its evident that it gets the all black treatment to its engine, exhaust pipe, suspensions and its allow wheels. Meanwhile it also gets "Gas Filled" rear shocks (which are absent from the 112 and 125 C.C Discovers). From the discussion picked up at XBhp.com, the new 135 C.C Discover also seems to have a broader rear tyre than its lower C.C cousins.

Bajaj now has motorcycles ranging from...
100 C.C, 112 C.C, 125 C.C, 135 C.C, 150 C.C, 180 C.C, 200 C.C, 220 C.C

This move will no doubt provide the customer with more options at different price range and subsequently strengthen Bajaj's hold in the market, but with such 10-15 C.C increments, Bajaj is also in real danger of confusing the customer.

The picture would become more clear if we look at it in this way..

"To avoid confusion, Bajaj should now try to highlight the individual brand names.."

  • CT100 & Platina: 100 C.C

  • Discover: 112 C.C, 125 C.C, 135 C.C

  • Pulsar: 150 C.C, 180 C.C, 200 C.C, 220 C.C

  • Avenger: 180 C.C

To avoid confusion, Bajaj should now try to highlight the individual brand names. For example, it could carry a campaign for the Discover range citing very clearly that the Discover Range is available with three different engine options and at three different price range.

Same can be done with the Pulsar range. Instead of coming out with a different advertisement for each Pulsar model, Bajaj can come out with a single advertisement stating that the Pulsar range is availabale in 4 models of 150, 180, 200 and 220 (soon to be launched).

With the recent price cuts on the Platina, Bajaj can now even think of removing the 100 C.C CT100. This will leave Bajaj with 4 brands to handle..

  • Platina

  • Discover

  • Pulsar & the

  • Avenger
