13 2012 Yamaha FZ (16/S) launched [Colors/Price/Photos]

Yamaha India launches refreshed 2012 FZ series of motorcycles..

Max. Torque seems to have come down from the earlier 14.0 Nm to 13.6 Nm

After the launch of the FZ-16 in 2008 and FZ-S in 2009, Yamaha India has been refreshing it's FZ range of motorcycles every year with new colors. Yamaha India had also put out limited edition FZ (and Fazer) in 2009 (all white colored) and 2010 (all black colored). Following this annual regimen, the FZ series gets new colors for 2012 as well.

Posted below are the changes, new colors, specs & prices.

Price: (Ex-Showroom Delhi as on 30'th Apr 2012)

FZ-16: Rs 69,250
FZ-S: Rs 71,280

New Features:

Apart from new color combinations, there are small feature changes like the addition of a lower chain guard/protector, redesigned grab rails, a longer & wider rear mudguard and a wider and longer rear seat.

Among the changes the long rear mudguard and the new chain guard looks a bit weird to me but the redesigned rear seat is a welcome change. The earlier FZ models had the smallest rear seat among Indian bikes, making it an uncomfortable pearch especially for the well endowed pillions.

There are no major change in the specifications of the bike except the Max. Torque which seems to have been reduced from the earlier 14.0 Nm to 13.6 Nm on the latest models (tuning the engine for better fuel efficiency..??).

Burns a huuuuge hole in your pocket...! Yamaha, please try to understand Our sentiments, Even after all these macho looks and the naked styling, the foremost thing to consider is:
"kitna deti hai...?"
And this Macho Machine gives only a mere avg. Of 28-32 in cities and worst ever 38.5 on highways..! WTH...
Hope you understand..!

So very true Jitendra. Did some 200kms test riding from the Yamaha Nepal showroom. It burns a hell lot of fuel. This drawback is pretty huge to cope up with.

Hey everyone!! I need some guidance, I work in an Ecuadorian motorcycle company in South America, we would love to travel to India in early 2013 to a two wheelers fair, however I understand that the next Auto Expo at New Delhi will take place in 2014, do you think that Surat Auto Expo 2013 will fulfill our expectations? Do you know any other Big motorcycle fair in 2013 at India? Thank you very much for your help.

Hey Fransisco,

Haven't heard of the Surat Auto Expo.. so can't comment on how big it would be. The Auto Expo held every two years at New Delhi is the biggest in India and it covers both cars and motorcycles.. and will be held next in 2014.
