The CB Unicorn gets a jazzy sibling in the form of the CB Unicorn Dazzler..
Read the complete Test Ride Review of the Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler here: Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler: Complete Review
Back in 2004, when Honda was about to launch its first motorcycle for India, many bikers were expecting a lot from the world's biggest selling motorcycle brand. But when the 150 cc Unicorn was ultimately unveiled, there was almost a collective groan of despair from the enthusiasts of the country.
In 2010, the Indian motorcycle scene has evolved enough to accept mildly tuned 150 cc motorcycles as executive commuters
The simple lines of the Unicorn coupled with an engine that was tuned to delight the executive commuter, failed to capture the minds and hearts of the youth. In 2004 it was still early days for most Indians to consider a 150 cc motorcycle as an executive commuter.
Over the years, even though the Unicorn have managed to find a band of Honda loyalysts, compared to the presence of other 150 cc bikes on our roads like the TVS Apache, the Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme and of course the Bajaj Pulsar, the presence of the Unicorn has remained modest.
Honda seems to have taken a leaf out of its Unicorn experience and has launched a jazzy variant of the CB Unicorn, the CB Unicorn Dazzler. (Launch news)
If the Unicorn was blamed for being too conservative, the Dazzler tries to be diametrically opposite.
The engine of the Dazzler has been derived from the proven 150 cc mill of the Unicorn (with a 0.7 bhp increase), but it is the styling which has managed bikers to sit up and take notice.
Meanwhile Honda officials have stated that the CB Unicorn would continue to be in production along with the CB Unicorn Dazzler.
The CB Unicorn Dazzler is basically the same Unicorn Sports Concept that was displayed at the 2010 Auto Expo.
Here is a quick list of what is new on the CB Unicorn Dazzler:
>> 14 bhp (the CB Unicorn makes 13.3)
>> Digital Speedo Console
>> A rear disc brake (not sure if its an optional/standard feature)
>> 110 section tubeless tyre (the Unicorn has a 100) at the rear
>> 17 inch wheels (the Unicorn has 18 inch)
>> Self Start only (Kick lever is absent in the photos)
>> Sharper body work
>> The bikes weighs 8 kgs less than the CB Unicorn
With 8 kgs less body weight, coupled with the max power and max torque coming in at a higher rpm (compared to the Unicorn) should make this bike sportier in performance over the CB Unicorn

In 2010, the Indian motorcycle scene has evolved enough to accept mildly tuned 150 cc motorcycles as executive commuters. The enthusiasts have the option of getting their kicks from other motorcycles. The 14 bhp therefore shouldn't dissappoint the guys looking for a some eye candy along with a frugal 150 cc. By the way Honda has claimed a mileage of around 60 kmpl for the CB Unicron Dazzler.
Whether one find the styling of the Dazzler to be appealing is a matter of personal taste.. but I am sure that the new clothes will definitely make it stand out in a crowd.
Personally I still think that the Pulsar 200/220S and the Yamaha FZ still are among the best styled motorcycles of India. The CB Unicorn is definitelly "jazzy" but to me it somehow appears like an bigger version of the CB Twister..!!
What do you guys think..??

the rear portion of the bike surely looks somewhat like Hero Honda Hunk's rear...and over all a bigger version of CB Twister.
but Dazzler does not meet expectations *disapponted* with the specifications...but it surely is a good looker!!!!..yet to see in meat...
yeah..it doesnt look path breaking design..twister and stunner were far better..this seems re-hash.... but i think it will sell well... "HONDA" logo is enough
Here's an analogy to describe my feeling:
Another good face in Bollywood who isn't quite sure about acting!
all i can see is PLASTIC on that bike. simple FUGLY
LOL Siddharth..!!
By the way, could you help me how to sort out the comment numbering problem?
Sorry buddy, me not a coding person... I can only play with a few things in the code. But I'll ask a good friend about this. She might be able to point out the problem.
Great post with nice images.I too feel that Pulsar 200/220S and the Yamaha FZ are the best styled bikes.
yeh bike honda company ke naam pe dabbha hai ............
honda bike is perfect bike of india
it seems it will give company good numbers but surly if honda would have made something exellent like fz16 or better , that would definatly be satisfactory.
Checked out the dazzler at the Honda outlet(Sai Honda,Thane,Maharashtra)...i was very very disappointed..it didnt look good(personal view)...but i must admit, the colour quality/shine of it was awesome.the colour was red...
Ironically, the lower capacity new Stunner(black/grey) was standing beside Dazzler..and it STOLE the show single handedly on the looks front.
but Dazzler will sell..*Honda Brand*..
My few cents..
Just upgrade CBF stunner with a 250 CC twin cylinder.. Add rear disc brake and learn somthing from Yamaha how to add a fat rear tyre.. price it around 1.3 lacs and that it.. what you guys say ?
lol instead of that take a look at cbx 300 its launched in brazil luks awsome
dazzler is not so impressive...............twister's luk is bettr thn dazzler except back
COMPANY SOLD LAKHS AND LAKHS OF VEHICLES AND NO PLACE SERVICE CENTRE. NO REPRESENTATIONS IN BIG CORPORATION AREAS LIKE VELLORETOWN TAMILNADU. IN DEALER ADMINISTRATION VERY POOR FOR HONDA WITH WORLD CLASS LEADER IN MOTORCYCLE AND ALSO IN TECHONOLOGY. PLEASE DO THE NEEDFUL IN THE EARLIEST HOUR.
Definitely it is good bike and more features than unicorn
I m looking for a 150cc bike? which one should I buy? My budget is 70k!
Go for the Pulsar 150, the latest model comes with clip ons and looks great. its a proven motorcycle and has been a market leader since its brith, speaks a lot about how good the product is.
It will give you the best combination of mileage, power, looks. Go for Pulsar, the market leader.
I think i wil prefer a cycle in place of a upgraded twister (**dazzler).
Hi all..i have bought uni dazzler on May 31st...Completed my 15 days and it has touched 400kms...Only one word i can say is Awesome or excellent or great....now i m feeling the slogan of Honda "I Enjoy the Quality"it has very smooth engine with comfort riding.... its definitely a gud upgraded package than old unicorn...the wider rear tyre, sexy digi console, power increment and tubeless tyre gives u a pleasant driving and sporty look...paying just 4000 bucks extra u get thise upgrades than older Uni which is good value for money thing... In City riding i acheived mileage of 52...Depends on driving style..but it gives around 50-55 kmpl in city riding conditons...In top speed(60 - 70kmph)also bike doesnt makes noise and vibes..feels like flying....only doubt is it doesnt have kick start..oly elec start..i ve doubted and scared while hearing first..after enquiring dealr he said ..it comes wit MF battery and sure ther will be no prob for 4-5 years in battery....gear shift is really smooth and easy....braking is excellent...one more thing i like to clarify is here i seen in several posts that rear disk is risky and tough for fresh new first time riders...But the truth is rear disc is not powerfula s front one...i've felt rear dis is some wat 20 -30% sharper than drum brake...but ther is no question of riskiness in rear discs....on the whole its a sporty commuter,.....i m very much satisfied...it simply overtook old uni in all aspects...while comparing to pulsar(Poor per and ewngine and no comfort..only style) and gs(rust prob and relaiablity of engine) and fz(Better - but fails in mileage)..its better in all aspects...but it can beat the style of fz..but in performance and specs wise it has comparitively better than above 3...so guys go for it and Have a enjoyable riding...if any queries mail me to sun_vijay2003@yahoo.co.in....bye..
the tank style is not upto the mark ,can be change like unicon 150cc or old model cbz . the front doom is ugly
i read the specification and other graphics of the unicrn dazzler
definetly this bike is going to perform better on India roads
its style gives it a different look in the crowd
and rear disc breaks are also increasing the style whic was not in the unicorn
i am waiting for arround 1.5 years for new unicorn upgradation with digital speedo meter. but when i saw dazzler i get upseted with its design & unnecessary features.
fuel tank was not seems good in dazzler.
there is no need to provide rear disk braek for 150cc bike.
there may arrise cold start battery problem. cranking mechanism not provided to overcome cold start problem.
it is necessary to have chain covers to maintain the chain quality & life of chain (as in our roads lots of dust & dirt avilable)
i unsatisfied by viewing dazzler.
now i book cb unicorn which is far superior in styling, maintenance & balancing.
one more thing Dazzler doent look like 150cc bike, it seems bike with 100cc.
it is very poor design modeling practice by Honda in such a competitive automotive sector.

I have been to the showroom at Honda I did like the design for Honda 2010 'CB' Unicorn Dazzler than the previous Honda Unicorns.
But yes when first looked at it I did feel that it was a Honda twister but then when I looked at the disk break and then the Logo then I realized it that it was the new Honda Unicorn Dazzler.
I love the design, the new MRF tyres with amazing deep grooves to the tyres. Well in terms with the dashboard I wish the Digital display would have been bigger. Well when I was looking at the Body the outer covering specially the rear lights I felt that the plastic wasn’t that strong. It was quite shaking i.e. it might break if it is pressed harder this might happen while a pillion rider is getting up or sitting on the bike. In comparison with the Yamaha FZ16 or S or the Fazer the body is well gripped and solid and strong.
Yeah also one more thing about the pillion support the hand grips were also plastic and wasn’t that strong like the Yamaha FZ's.
Yeah But I really love the Honda's engine refinement and the mileage part. I wish the Yamaha's had and addition of Mileage competency in their list of the FZ's

Shoaib
Any comments please reply… :-)
fuck off all u commenters!!! this bike is a sweet piece of honda's creation
hey hey!!! keep ur mouth shut u anonymous.we all r here to comment so we`ll let everybody know wht we think about this bike.u have no rights to say tht.kzz....got that!!!
Side Wings looks like Hunk..
Front view of bike looks like Suzuki Fireo...
Honda did sm cosmetic change to Unicorn and Twister...... Rear disc and Tubeless are new.....
Jus came home with my black dazzler 2 days ago..Bought it after exhaustive research and test drives for 70k on road in Goa.No waiting period just picked up the only one that arrived.I wanted a smooth engine ,comfortable ride and descent mileage.Basically a no nonsense bike for 5+ yrs..Well looks wise the pics dont do justice..In realtime I kind of liked it.I had issues with the headlight but after a while id say not a bad effort concept of cb1000.Overall the rest of the body I found practical and simple. Its slightly smaller than cb unicorn but i think that makes it nimble in traffic..I like to snake thru zip..Its not the fastest in pickup but the smoothest..Power delivery is gradual.Still taking it easy but im sure once im done running in i can top 115 easily.Got about 55kmpl mix of city and highway.Braking impressed me the most and no jerks just powerful stop without skidding.Rear brake is the old style like my rx but effective and hardly noticable.Overall im very satisfied more importantly I should feel same way 5 years down the line.
My way of approach is completely different from you all. Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler is simply superb. Here you don' have to compromise, you get the power and mileage as well. Consider FZ 16 and Pulsar 220, they hardly give a mileage of 30-40... With all new features, Dazzler is a outstanding bike in its class.
dazler have a good riding comfort and looks is great but plastic is not good no body have rights to coment on hondas bike
honda cb unicorn bike is one of best bike in honda series
@ emmanuel
u should buy a TVS apache RTR160
this will be best in ur budjet :)
And Dazzler is a good bike from Honda, will rock
Lado kha
hi guys..i have been waiting for honda cb unicorn dazzler so long..
i feel this bike must be a rocking one on the road side..
I have purchased Honda dazzler and am taken by a bit of surprise when I have to use choke to start the vehicle every day.
Do any one of you face this problem?
its gud culd hav been better
I have booked HONDA DAZZLER 1 week back and itzz yet to arrive by another 2weeks...I am very much afraid by the mixed response of the bike....
@Honey,
Don't worry, treat the bike properly and everything should be ok
hi frens, i am from kathmandu, Honda has just launched dazzler a few days ago. the same day when i was planning to buy CB Unicorn. When i saw the newspaper that morning, I was very happy to see dazzler launched in nepal...I just wanted to know which is the better bike CB unicorn or unicorn dazzler. i like it, but there is mixed views about the looks of the bike. There is no kick start also, and I fear that its parts will not be available in the future.
How is the response to the bike in india?? is it flop or hit???
So if any body has been using dazzler please inform me about its performance...Should i go for it, or THe older version.
@ above,
The Dazzler is sportier (by form as well as engine) compared to the Unicorn.
Any new product could have some initial issues. If you are apprehensive, then go for the CB Unicorn.
i m very much discourages to purchase it. pahle to bahut suna tha but now mood is changed.
hey guys......i bought my bike on aug 9th......i'm extremely impressed with its perfomance. i am getting a mileage of 55+ in the city.... comparing to appache and pulsar, pickup is excellant for 150cc.....
this bike is being designed for a smooth and comfortable riding.... and its even smoother than a unicorn...... u will feel like u are riding a car.... well i have never driven a fz or fazer, so i cant compare with them.......
on looks i should admit that its not that great comparing to fz, fazer and r15...
if u r looking for unicorn i advice to go for dazzler.........
i dont think that the bike can't give a chance for disappointment among the users..... but those who are disappointed(some reviews) i think that they dont own a dazzler...may just had a test drive...
i think its much much better than pulser and appache 150cc.....
my top speed 116km/hr
maintain ur bike properly....especially 1st month dont go above 60 km/hr....45-55 km/hr is safe... after 1st service you can rise your speed......
i bought cb unicorn dazzler 8 days ago it is awesome and pulsar is stylish but cant beat dazzler..........it is very good in looks and also in performance also.......it can beat any bike......if you observe dazzler it has digital and anlog metr......i liked it a lot... i am experienced and i will say that dazzler is the best.....and it gives 58-65/litre.
i ride VR and also have bought the older version of cb unicorn 2-3 months ago. i was expecting dazzler but couldn't resist the silver cb unicorn.AT FIrst glance i had liked the silver unicorn but now that the dazzler been launched i kind of think whether i have made a mistake not waiting for the new version.have i made a mistake or the two versions don't differ much in all aspects? awaiting answers............
surprise when I have to use button to start the vehicle every day instead of kick. is there any facility to add kick.
@Manjunath,
It won't be that easy to retro fit a kick starter. Take it easy, take care of the battery and there won't be a problem
Missing of kick start is not a problem. if you guys are saying so, then the same could be said for Yamaha FZ16, FZs, SZx, or Pulsar 200cc or 220cc.
guys tell me which bike to choose among(unicorn, cbz xtreme, suzuki gs150r) i want opinion based on permormance.. pls repl earliest

Great post with nice images.I too feel that Pulsar 200/220S and the Yamaha FZ are the best styled bikes.
But as far i know Yamaha bikes dont have good resel value compared to other bikes and pulsar has terrible sound
What about CBZ XTREME ATFT and hunk. Can anyone tell abt der mileage?
nice bike but the price is high
Hi all..i have bought uni dazzler on May 31st…Completed my 6 months and it has crossed 4500kms…Only one word i can say is Awesome or excellent or great….now i m feeling the slogan of Honda “I Enjoy the Quality”it has very smooth engine with comfort riding…. its definitely a gud upgraded package than old unicorn…the wider rear tyre, sexy digi console, power increment and tubeless tyre gives u a pleasant driving and sporty look…paying just 4000 bucks extra u get thise upgrades than older Uni which is good value for money thing… In City riding i acheived mileage of 52…Depends on driving style..but it gives around 50-55 kmpl in city riding conditons…In top speed(60 – 70kmph)also bike doesnt makes noise and vibes..feels like flying….only doubt is it doesnt have kick start..oly elec start..i ve doubted and scared while hearing first..after enquiring dealr he said ..it comes wit MF battery and sure ther will be no prob for 4-5 years in battery….gear shift is really smooth and easy….braking is excellent…one more thing i like to clarify is here i seen in several posts that rear disk is risky and tough for fresh new first time riders…But the truth is rear disc is not powerfula s front one…i’ve felt rear dis is some wat 20 -30% sharper than drum brake…but ther is no question of riskiness in rear discs….on the whole its a sporty commuter,…..my top speed is 116 kmph..i m very much satisfied…it simply overtook old uni in all aspects…while comparing to
pulsar(Poor performance and engine and no comfort..only style) and
gs(rust prob and relaiablity of engine) and
fz(Better and good style – but fails in mileage and high price)..
Dazzler is better in all aspects…but it can beat the style of fz..but in performance and specs wise it has comparitively better than above 3…so guys go for it and Have a enjoyable riding…
Some Issues i faced in my 4500 kms of journey wit my Machine
1.Sometimes i face this..not all the times..wen i m driving in 5th gear it automatically shifts to 4th gear...
2.In Winter season have to use choke for starting...
3.My Clutch cable has got cut aftr 20 days of purchase and they have replaced me for free of cost..
4. Engine gets very heated after some 10 to 15 mins of drive for first 2 months.... now its ok...heat reduced...5.the vibrations i hav faced it in initial stages...but now if i go at 70kms also no vibs and gearshift is so smooth like slicing the butter or boiled egg
Tips for Good maintanence of Dazzler :-
1. Do timely service
2.Jus lubricate u r chain 10 days once..it will b gud..This is Important.
3. For Better braking u shud apply both front and rear if you go beyond 40 kmph
4. For Good Mileage .. Daily Morning after starting the bike leave the bike in Idle engine running condition of 1500 rpm..It allows Engine oil to flow through all parts of Engine fully..Start riding after doing this.. Dont Use Clutch Frequently..Use it wisely..
5.Each and Everytime u giv for Service jus tell the service person to check the MF Battery health and Recharge it fully for avoiding Battery related problems..This is very important since u hav to rely only on elec start...
6.After your free services get over - Dont go for Honda service after that...Prefer your Good Local mechanic..BCos honda service mechanics are not so good.
From my Experience i hav crossed 4500kms...it got very smooth..........its like grape wine man...as days pass it will taste gr8...sure u will feel aftr crossing 3000kms....Dont Read my review and take decisions...U Jus go to the showroom..test ride the Dazzler ..andd u urself will feel the difference from other bikes...Take a wise decision..
if any issues or queries mail me to sun_vijay2003@yahoo.co.in or sundar3030@gmail.com…bye..
Is it advisable to add clip on handle bar to dazzler?
waiting for my new unicorn dazzler :) i will have it in a week
Honda....i enjoy quality...thatz apt for this...major problem is booking...waiting just like a divorced man...when u ride this once am sure u will adict for this...easy handling, smoothness of engine..all r impressive...second problem is servicing...when u gave this byk to servicing u will miss her atleast 2 days(in my city only one service centre)...at last one request to honda...pls gave her with ornaments(i mean saree guard, number plate,..) ok guyz have happy drive
At least 25% honda dazzler customers are having problem with self-start during cold and rainy weather. This is because of weak 4 ah battery in dazzler, which discharges quickly. If you park bike for 1 week and then start it, dazzler selfstart wont work. Big problem, as dazzler has no kickstart. cb uicorn has 7 ah battery. Fz16 has 5 ah battery that is very good, but dazzler battery is very bad. Again, dont compare with cars. Cars have very powerful 30 ah to 100 ah batteries. Honda should give kiker option in dazzler for 2k extra. It will make dazzler reliable and give customer peace of mind.
Hello Sundar! There is no major rust problem in Gs150r. The reported minor rust problem is there in all bikes including unicorn, apache, gs150r, fz16, hunk, pulsar. Check unicorn disc brake, chassis under fuel tank, etc., even unicorn will have rust. All bikes will develop rust slowly, espcially faster in coastal areas. The minor rust prob in gs150r been exaggerated and made big by few people. Also, rust starts mostly from extra fittings like saree guard, crash guard, etc.
bajaj chetak is better than pulsar220
Dazzler production has stopped.
I wanted lightweight bike, so i had booked dazzler in July. But Honda dazzler is not available in showroom since August 2011. Showroom people say dazzler production has stopped. Why, nobody knows. They say next batch of dazzler will come only in 2012.
Anyway, without kicker, dazzler sales were very less. Removing kicker and giving low-power 4 Ah battery in dazzler was stupid of honda. People did not buy.
Now, dont compare with cars. Cars have powerful 30 Ah to 100 Ah batteries and cars have fuel-injection, which enables efficient ignition. Yamaha R15 also has fuel injection, not carburetor. Dazzler has carburetor. Maybe new dazzler will get more-powerful battery at least or kicker now, since new yamaha Fz-S has kicker.
Also, I think honda is concentrating more on Activa (50%) and Twister (20%) which together account for 70% of honda sales every month and give better profit. Shine, unicorn, dazzler, stunner, dio, and aviator together contribute the remaining 30% sales or even less.
So, now for a lightweight bike, my options are SZ-R, FZ-S, and RTR180. RTR180 has rear disk and kicker also. For big bike choice, i prefer Gs150r or Hunk over Cb-unicorn, as unicorn is outdated and lacks many features.
40-45 KMPL..Parts are costly, Chain slack every month, u will hardly reach 8500 rpm to get the 14.2 BHP power at 4/5 th gear. parts are not available, Service performance ( although depends on location ) is poor. max speed u can reach is 113KMPH on a flat road. Rear disk break is an ornamentation.I just add up to your cost. Mark my word : I will not recommend to other about Honda dazzler.
Hi..guys my bike has completed 1 year today...bike is very nice and ”it has very smooth engine with comfort riding…. Only one problem i feel is that bike must want kick... I faced problem 2-3 times because of no kick on this bike. In rainy season we must want kick start bike....
hii friends.. tel me honda unicorn dazzler price on road .. bangalore
I've clocked 117km/h on the speedo with very less vibes...
After reading lots of comments regarding Honda dazzler,I'm very confused whether I should buy the bike or I should go for another bike. Can any body having lot of experience suggest me about what to do?Some people are telling very good about the bike, but some are telling that Dazzler is worthless.Very tough to decide what to do?I'm searching for a bike which is nice to look,150cc power, provides good mileage, good performance & trendy. Now please any body suggest which bike is best within Rs-72000/.
