Bike India and Overdrive in their Feb 2010 issue compares the Pulsar 135LS with the CBF Stunner and the Honda Unicorn and the Yamaha FZ-16
In my review of the Pulsar 135LS, I had said that this 135 cc bike can seriously shake up even the 150 cc category bikes. Well, even Bike India Magazine and Overdrive seems to agree with me.. no kidding!!
Bike India: Pulsar 135LS Vs CBF Stunner Vs Unicorn
- Bike India Magazine in its Feb, 2010 issue have compared the Pulsar 135LS along with the 125 cc Honda CBF Stunnner and the 150 cc Honda Unicorn. [Read the Bike India comparo on their website]
- Overdrive in its Feb, 2010 issue has carried a comparo between the Pulsar 135LS, the Honda CBF Stunner and the Yamaha FZ-16.
Not only the Pulsar 135LS out performs the 125 cc CBF Stunner in both the comparisons, but according to Bike India and Overdrive magazines, the Pulsar 135LS also overtakes even the Honda Unicorn and the Yamaha FZ-16 respectively in performance..!!

[Excerpt from the Bike India comparo:]
THE MOOLAH
In our country, the big question that follows fuel efficiency is the price. And this is the interesting part in this shootout. Honda retails the Unicorn at Rs 64,082, on the road in Pune and the Stunner at Rs 60,580, but the 2010 model will be dearer by another Rs 2,500 thus bringing its sticker price closer to the Unicorn at around Rs 63,000. (Drum roll) Presenting the party spoiler for the Japanese giant, the all-new Pulsar 135 LS comes with a smashing price tag of Rs 56,500 only. (Silence). It can save you Rs 6,500 of your (or your dad’s) hard earned money. Yes, you can spend it on your girlfriend we mentioned above or donate it to a charity...
THE WINNER
For those who don’t fancy the plain Jane, Bajaj has the answer for you. The Pulsar is a really good 135cc bike that balances the commuter aspect by giving you over 63km per liter of petrol and at the same time, it will make you overtake the city crawlers by its raw power. The price positioning and value for money aspect gives it an edge over its rivals. It is light weight, looks naughty and wears a bikini fairing. Settled then, don’t take the Pulsar 135 LS home. Take it for a ride, a really long one.

Well... its a Pulsar and they never last... not value for money!
My new Pulsar gave me more problems than my neighbours 5 year old Hero Honda.
I dont want to go for a chinese/bajaj bikes anymore. Nobody can convince me, i have seen it first hand. Thank you!
@Payeng
I was kinda seeing the last comment coming with the article that you've written :) !!
This is what I feel about the experience of @Raj
There are good bike experience and there are not so good bike experience.... but in no way on earth you can compare a Bajaj with anything Chinese... that's a big time disgrace that you are making to the brand without which the R15s, FZs, the Uniconrns or anything we know as performance bikes wouldn't have been in the scene!!
So, you might have had some issues with your new Pulsar but at the same time I also had some issues with mine 2 years old P200, and everytime I tried to route back to the cause and learnt something new about biking.... so instead of cribbing about Bajaj and comparing it with Chinese (which you shouldn't) just think about the root cause and you would find that it's either the mechanics at the service center(which I totally agree that they tend to take you for a ride) or it's something that you might have done wrong... and I'm sure that you would learn something new about biking!!
@Sajal, there are different kind of people. Some see the glass half empty and some see the same glass half full.
For some, bikes and biking is a passion and a relationship.. for some it should be just a mode of trouble free commute.
What you say is true that without the Pulsars, biking in India wouldn't have been what it is right now.. and the Pulsar 135LS is doing just that.. i.e. pushing the envelope once again for others to follow.
By the way, the quality of our homw grown bikes have become more consistent now and is getting better with time.
@Payeng
By the way... the only thumbs down with the Pulsar 135LS are... as you have pointed out earlier the rear tyre hugger and exhaust canister... they kinda pull down the performance image of the bike. But again, they have the added impact on the reduction of weight... a bigger exhaust canister would definitely have added to the weight!! Some things already on the list of to mod hunting eyes ;)
It is a good step forward from Bajaj.I am currently in Singapore. Here from India only Bajaj has got presence and respect among the crowd of mighty Ninjas and Hyabusa and not so mighty scootys.Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 200 can be seen everywhere, and are quite popular as fuel efficient and visualy appealing bikes.I think Pulsar 135 can as well be a big hit here with new 4 valve technology.
stunner is better than pulsar135ls,becoz stunner have tubeless tyres front and rear.pulsar 135ls is ordinary tyres.and my frnd bought pulsar135ls he says in performance was not good.east or west stunner is the best i think so
@Hardeep, maybe you should start writing reviews for auto magazines. Ha Ha.
I'll rather believe the auto magazine experts and Mr. Payeng than believe you
yaa pulsar is best among unicorn,fz,and stunner in performance and style.its pickup is very good and top speed on my pulsar 135 is 116 kmph.its one of the best bike in india and world.
wtf??? how can u compare fz and unicorn with the other two. They dont even belong to the same segment. I own an fz16 and it is primarily designed for power and performance and clearly it leaves the rest of them far behind in this aspect...
Obviously a 150cc bike gives better power and a 125 cc will give more mileage. So they cant be compared.
STUNNER is the Best,,,
Bcos Making of HONDA
i wanna buy a bike . . suggest between fz-s,unicorn dazzler,pulsar150,apache !
good looks, ride comfort n reasonable mileage of 40+ are my priorities...
waitin fa ur reply :)
give me two choices as ma parents r almost anti-pulsar !
also temme if fz-s can have a lifetime of say 6-7 yrs...
pls email me at lerish_lal@yahoo.co.in
Honda- Boring
TVS Apache- vibrator machine
Yamaha- overpiced, underpower and petrol guzzler
Pulsar rules, if your parents are against Pulsar, then get a scooter instead.
Motorycle means Pulsar- The fastest India
stunner PGM-FI is also overtake pulsar 135cc and 150cc.it goes top speed of 128kmph.HONDA CBR 150 is really fastest racer bike compair with all indian bike like pulsar 220 ,karizma, yamaha R15 etc
stunner is always best
Hmm well i own a stunner fi.. Well suited for my highway and urban ride except some wibes around 60's mark and above that it becomes again creamy smooth.. Yeah good quality by Honda, latest fi tech, smooth engine, tubeless rubber aiding good ride, enough grunt, distinctive fireblade colour code, minimal graphics, head turning looks (except from the back), and mileage of true 60kmpl.. But i wish it had a RTM digital fuel guage, rpm guage, an engine kill switch, pilot lamps, and full body fairing for its over priced tag of 76k! If its quality i choose Honda and if its performance and gizmos i say Bajaj
Stunner is the best ..bcoz people even consider stunner as a 150cc bike with better mileage...Itz amazing looks and performance is the best for a college student..no objections to it...
Just consider the 150cc bikes only if u wanna travel in a speed higher than 80 more comfortably, other wise stunner will be the best one.
stunner is the best until n unless u dont want to ride at 100+ speed

i own stunner and very disappointed with it's performance. On the price factor i think bajaj rules. Pulsar 135 has the looks better than stunner, also the top speed of stunner is disappointing , i could only reach upto 92 kmph on highway.
Bajaj modifies the bike according to the needs, which honda lags. Even yamaha fz 16 looks is more appealing than unicorn and performance is better than Honda. Honda is still in primeval period in INDIA..
HEY,
i wanna buy a bike,bt
