UPDATE (11'th Nov. 2008): Check out this new Post "When will the Fuel Injected Hero Honda Karizma arrive..??"
- First: Sales of the 125 c.c version from Hero Honda (Super Splendor & Glamour (Yuck!! What a cheesy name)) have not really set the sales charts on fire as expected and are well behind Bajaj Auto's 125 c.c model the Discover. So the logic behind the choice of the 125 c.c Glamour as the model for introduction of the Fuel Injection technology for Hero Honda beats me really. What Hero Honda has managed to do in the process is price the 125 c.c Fuel Injected bike quite close to 150 c.c segment. Now apart from the exceptional fuel efficiency (which the fuel injected 125 c.c Hero Honda seems to provide) why would the customer buy a less powerful 125 c.c when he can get a carburreted but more powerful 150 c.c for almost the same money. And if it's fuel efficiency that the customer cares, wont he go in for a much cheaper 100 c.c alternative?
- Second: In order to take the thunder away from the Bajaj Pulsar 150 (the market leader in the 150 c.c class) why did Hero Honda not offer a Fuel Injected CBZ Xtreme? Maybe they could have provided that at least as an option. Also what is another 150 c.c model the Achiever (Sheesh..!! Another Cheesy name) doing along with the CBZ Xtreme..??
- Third: If Hero Honda decides just to introduce Fuel Injection in the present 223 c.c Karizma without any significant increase in both engine c.c (a 250 maybe) and power (from the present 17 b.h.p), not mentioning goodies like Rear Disc brakes, Oil Cooled Engine, Projector Headlamps, Self Cancelling Turn indicators etc. which won't be provided (Which the Bajaj Pulsar 220 will definitely provide). Then History would repeat itself. "Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSFi would kill the Karizma 223 Fi like the Pulsar killed the Original CBZ"a
Its quite clear that Hero Honda will find it difficult to price its products below Bajaj's price in any segment. So I guess It's not rocket science to deduct that if Hero Honda fails to differentiate its products in its favor, then all it can do is watch Bajaj laugh all the way to the bank and lose its market leader position to Bajaj.

well said payeng, seems like bajaj is leading the way, quite admirably
Yes Kamal,
Hero Honda needs to something different fast rather than follow Bajaj's moves.
hey a modified karizma blew p220.what if the fi kit is added and also modified with larger jets and k&n filter, the karizma will be a killer for p220 ,feel pitty for p220 then.
karima has to increase it cc to 300 and bhp to 20
karizma should come with digital meters, oilcooled engine,zapertyres1400mm to make it sporty
nd old model of cbz should be introduce with all dis features bt with 150cc to beat pulsar
Latest news, hero honda is going to launch karizma fi expected during november diwali 2007. My friends cousin who works in hero honda manufacturing plant at gurgaon. Secondly info was also provided by one of the dealers at Ludhiana as told by another cousin. Price is expected 92000. Guys cheers as karizma is only sports bike. Pulsar 220 looks like a home made toy. Karizma fi would definately beat pulsar 220. My friends karizma with bigger jets and filter has already beaten pulsar 220
Saminder,
there has been numerous rumours like these previously.
lets see if this one is true.
This dude is really is biased towards Bajaj, dont know for what reason, chk ur name first in indian context before criticizing HH products names, and on the tech front leave it to the sales volume to speak india is not made up of just S/W professionals, go to rural where most of the numbers for the small capacity bikes are met by all the Manufacturers are met, if no y dont u starts ur own company and launch products for your own genre,
why aren't there any good articles abt hero honda karishma........
why is it always p220 p220 p220
since the Karizma (and not "karishma"... that's a filmstar) is already a good bike.. we are just waiting for it to get better..
waiting..
yes true..we hav done enough racing to prove dat .the zma needs to be MOODED to beat the stock p200/220...grow up zma fanssss
just accept the fact that bajaj is getting better....and hero honda just following their trails....
Critisizing Karizma is one of the ugliest things one should do. Hero Honda gaves us wings of 223cc. when we were riding on the standard 100cc.
And perfection comes with time. So lets wait and welcome KARIZMA with open arms..
when will karishma fi releseas
