4 2013 Yamaha FZ 16/S [New Colors]

New Colors... Now this is stretching a bit too much.. and it is no longer cute

I had always considered the Yamaha FZ (series) as one of the most aesthetically pleasing motorcycles to have been launched in India. But mixing and matching with new bright colors every #@$%ing year is seriously getting on my nerves.

Far from the "Lord of the Streets" tag line, the FZ is now appearing more and more like those "Woodabe" dudes with over the top makeups and fancy feathers.. performing their annual "Yaake" in a bid to gain female attention.

14 Honda CB Trigger (not the rumoured CB150R) launched in India

The rumoured CB150R does not make it to India.. but what comes in is a CB Dazzler in new clothes

So it looks like the Auto Publications got it wrong. Honda did launch a naked motorcycle today (11 Mar), but instead of the rumoured CB150R what has been unveiled looks to be basically an updated CB Dazzler in new clothes.. with a new name, CB Trigger.

Maybe Honda missed an opportunity here by not calling it the 2013 CB Dazzler

According to Honda, they want to position the CB Trigger between the CB Unicorn and the CBR150R. Isn't that where the CB Dazzler was supposed to be positioned? Looks like the CB Dazzler might be on its way out.

Honda has not revealed the prices of the CB and would be made public when booking opens next month. Deliveries are supposed to begin from May. The CB Trigger will be available in 3 variants.

1 Mahindra Mojo Spied.

Looks like Mahindra 2 Wheelers still has "Mojo" dreams..

IndianCarsBikes clicked photos of the Mahindra Mojo, the 300 cc motorcycle that was shown way back in Sep 2010 by Mahindra 2 Wheelers. The photos were cliked in the City of Pune, where the R&D center of Mahindra 2 Wheelers is located. It appears that Mahindra is still interested in launching the Mojo in India.

Mahindra totally clueless about motorcycles:

Mahindra is a great brand in India when it comes to making rugged, off road passenger and commercial vehicles. Their recent SUV the XUV500 is a huge success in India. But when it comes to making / designing motorcycles, it is very clear that the guys at Mahindra do not have much idea about it.

7 Honda to launch CB150R (naked version of the CBR150R) in India says media

Naked version of the CBR150R is headed for India.. says auto publications..

There are a lot of nonsense/baseless speculations regarding motorcycle launches in India. Surprisingly a few years back most of these speculations were fueled by Auto Publications (remember Yamaha Fazer 250, Honda Twister (250 cc) from the 2006-07 years..??).

But thanks to the recent mushrooming of a class of overenthusiastic auto blogs and bloggers, the baton of making these kind of wild speculations have been taken over by these laptop bikers (recent examples being the Imaginary Yamaha YZF 25/250 or the baseless speculation of the European YZF R125 being launched in India).

The auto publications are now more sober/responsible in their reporting. So when nearly all the major auto publications have reported that Honda is planning to launch the CB150R in India on 11 March 2013, I think we can believe them.

7 Honda CBF Stunner 125 PGM-Fi Discontinued in India..!!

Another "Fi" motorcycle bites the dust in India..

Somewhere in the beginning of the year, Honda (HMSI) removed the CBF Stunner 125 PGM-Fi from its official Indian website. Which probably means that owing to low demand for the model Honda decided to pull the plug of the Fuel Injected "PGM-Fi" variant of the CBF Stunner motorcycle.

P.S: No publication, Blog or Site seems to be picked up the news so far

Unlike markets like Indonesia where technology like Fuel Injection and Liquid Cooling are aspired even by the commuting consumers (even step thru models and automatic scooters in Indonesia have started to feature Fuel Injection and Liquid Cooling), the Indian consumer comparatively is largely ignorant about such tech and in most cases not willing to loosen his purse for some feature which does not add to the "aesthetic/flaunt" value of his purchase. A common Indian motorcyclist would rather pay Rs. 20,000 more for a full fairing rather than on tech like fuel injection.

Why "Fi" does not deliver the benefits proportional to its cost..??
