7 Honda to launch CB150R (naked version of the CBR150R) in India says media

Naked version of the CBR150R is headed for India.. says auto publications..

There are a lot of nonsense/baseless speculations regarding motorcycle launches in India. Surprisingly a few years back most of these speculations were fueled by Auto Publications (remember Yamaha Fazer 250, Honda Twister (250 cc) from the 2006-07 years..??).

But thanks to the recent mushrooming of a class of overenthusiastic auto blogs and bloggers, the baton of making these kind of wild speculations have been taken over by these laptop bikers (recent examples being the Imaginary Yamaha YZF 25/250 or the baseless speculation of the European YZF R125 being launched in India).

The auto publications are now more sober/responsible in their reporting. So when nearly all the major auto publications have reported that Honda is planning to launch the CB150R in India on 11 March 2013, I think we can believe them.

7 Honda CBF Stunner 125 PGM-Fi Discontinued in India..!!

Another "Fi" motorcycle bites the dust in India..

Somewhere in the beginning of the year, Honda (HMSI) removed the CBF Stunner 125 PGM-Fi from its official Indian website. Which probably means that owing to low demand for the model Honda decided to pull the plug of the Fuel Injected "PGM-Fi" variant of the CBF Stunner motorcycle.

P.S: No publication, Blog or Site seems to be picked up the news so far

Unlike markets like Indonesia where technology like Fuel Injection and Liquid Cooling are aspired even by the commuting consumers (even step thru models and automatic scooters in Indonesia have started to feature Fuel Injection and Liquid Cooling), the Indian consumer comparatively is largely ignorant about such tech and in most cases not willing to loosen his purse for some feature which does not add to the "aesthetic/flaunt" value of his purchase. A common Indian motorcyclist would rather pay Rs. 20,000 more for a full fairing rather than on tech like fuel injection.

Why "Fi" does not deliver the benefits proportional to its cost..??

4 Bajaj Discover 100T: India's first 100 cc, 4 Valve Engine launched

Bajaj launches India's first 100 cc motorcycle with a 4 Valve Engine.. with 2 Spark plugs (DTS-i) to boot

Appearing almost equivalent to a 150 cc, the 100T makes a formidable looking 100 cc motorcycle

Just prior to its launch (last month) and also post launch all publications touted it as India's most advanced 100 cc motorcycle. The reason for the hype is that the Discover 100T is India's first 100 cc motorcycle with a 4 Valve engine. That is a feat in itself actually as Bajaj have crammed in 4 valves (2 inlet, 2 outlet) as well as another two holes for the 2 spark plugs (DTS-i) tech.

My Take on Looks/Styling:

Personally the 100T looks more pleasing to me than the 125ST. The uncluttered rear mudguard on the 100T looks elegant than the slightly overdone one on the 125ST. Also to me the twin rear shocks look more a part of the design than the monoshock of the 125ST.

2 Kawasaki Z250 launched in Indonesia..!! Do we smell a Z300 as well?

Kawasaki launches the naked version of the 2013 Ninja 250 as Z250 in Indonesia..

Kawasaki has launched the Z250 in Indonesia, the Z series of Kawasaki is its Naked series of bikes. The Z250 joins the naked stables of Kawasaki along with models like the Z1000 and Z800. When looked head on, the Z250 resembles a mini version of the Z800.

Lighter than the Ninja 250 by 4 Kgs and making the same amount of power and torque, the Z250 is essentially the naked/stripped version of the 2013 Ninja 250. The seat height is also delightfully low at 785 mm.

Kawasaki once more showed how important is Indonesia in its Global plans. Just like it had launched the 2013 Ninja 250 in Indonesia first than anywhere else in the world, it has again launched the Z250 in Indonesia.. where else?

Apparently Kawasaki sells the most number of the Ninja 250R in Indonesia more than anywhere in the world..!! Quite impressive i'd say for what essentially is a step thru - automatic scooter market.
