4 Bajaj Discover 100T: India's first 100 cc, 4 Valve Engine launched

Bajaj launches India's first 100 cc motorcycle with a 4 Valve Engine.. with 2 Spark plugs (DTS-i) to boot

Appearing almost equivalent to a 150 cc, the 100T makes a formidable looking 100 cc motorcycle

Just prior to its launch (last month) and also post launch all publications touted it as India's most advanced 100 cc motorcycle. The reason for the hype is that the Discover 100T is India's first 100 cc motorcycle with a 4 Valve engine. That is a feat in itself actually as Bajaj have crammed in 4 valves (2 inlet, 2 outlet) as well as another two holes for the 2 spark plugs (DTS-i) tech.

My Take on Looks/Styling:

Personally the 100T looks more pleasing to me than the 125ST. The uncluttered rear mudguard on the 100T looks elegant than the slightly overdone one on the 125ST. Also to me the twin rear shocks look more a part of the design than the monoshock of the 125ST.

2 Kawasaki Z250 launched in Indonesia..!! Do we smell a Z300 as well?

Kawasaki launches the naked version of the 2013 Ninja 250 as Z250 in Indonesia..

Kawasaki has launched the Z250 in Indonesia, the Z series of Kawasaki is its Naked series of bikes. The Z250 joins the naked stables of Kawasaki along with models like the Z1000 and Z800. When looked head on, the Z250 resembles a mini version of the Z800.

Lighter than the Ninja 250 by 4 Kgs and making the same amount of power and torque, the Z250 is essentially the naked/stripped version of the 2013 Ninja 250. The seat height is also delightfully low at 785 mm.

Kawasaki once more showed how important is Indonesia in its Global plans. Just like it had launched the 2013 Ninja 250 in Indonesia first than anywhere else in the world, it has again launched the Z250 in Indonesia.. where else?

Apparently Kawasaki sells the most number of the Ninja 250R in Indonesia more than anywhere in the world..!! Quite impressive i'd say for what essentially is a step thru - automatic scooter market.

8 Mahindra Pantero & Centuro joins the 100 cc brigade

Mahindra tries to make a splash in the motorcycle market with two 110 cc variants, Pantero and Centuro

This is what happens when guys used to making and selling 4 wheelers are made to make motorcycles..

Despite roping in Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, Mahindra's first attempt at making and selling motorcycles ended with a disaster called the Stallio. Now after a hiatus of nearly 2 years of stalling the stallio, Mahindra is once again trying to make a mark for itself in the motorcycle market, this time by launching two 110 cc models called the Pantero and Centuro.

Both models are basically improved versions of the Stallio, the Pantero looking nearly identical to the older Stallio.

Tough Times ahead for the guys at Mahindra 2 Wheelers

With the V2.0, Yamaha had done a splendid job of restyling the original R15 transforming the ugly ducking into an elegant swan. Although the engine and other cycle parts remain untouched for the 2013 version, the new colors do look nice. It'll certainly keep the the R15 fresh which is still a gem of a 150 cc bike one can buy in India.

The new colors for the R15 V2.0 do look cool. But it will be more interesting to see what Yamaha India has up its sleeve for us in 2-3 years time.
