9 Honda Dream Yuga Launched [Colors/Specs/Features/Price]

Honda launches its lowest priced motorcycle the Dream Yuga in India..

"Ek naya Dream, Ek naya Yug" that's the tag line of the recently launched Dream Yuga (ok so "Yuga" is supposed to mean "Yug").

This particular 110 cc motorcycle is a very important India specific model for Honda. So far Honda has managed to notch up impressive sales numbers because of the success (nearly monopoly) of it's automatic scooters (headed by the Activa). Although motorcycle models like the Unicorn, Shine etc. has been around for quite sometime, the contribution of motorcycles in overall 2 wheeler volumes for Honda in India has been modest.

Dream Yuga is the only motorcyle in the current Honda lineup not to have that "CB" branding..!!

With the Dream Yuga, Honda hopes to make an impact in the belly of the market (100-110 cc motorcycles). The Dream Yuga looks quite decent in the photos. Styling in a way reminds of the 125 cc Shine. The engine has been borrowed from Honda's Twister. I was quite impressed with the 110 cc Twister's engine so am expecting the Dream Yuga to perform flawlessly in the engine dept.

38 Bajaj Discover 125ST unveiled [Photos/Specs]

Bajaj unveils its Sporty Commuter, the Discover 125ST.. with a 4 Valve per cylinder engine and monoshock..!!

The commuter class bikes in India gets sportier with the launch of the new Discover 125 ST. The ST it seems stands for "Sports Tourer", not in the CBR250R, VFR1200 kind of way but more so from the perspective of an average Indian commuter.

What’s New in the new Discover 125 ST?

    1. India’s first 125 cc commuter bike to feature a 4 valve DTS-i engine
    2. India’s first 125 cc commuter bike to feature Monoshock Rear Suspension with Nitrox
    3. Completely new design

3 KTM 200 Duke can ride though Knee Deep Water with it’s Exhaust Submerged..!!

Unbelievable but true..!!

There was a slight murmur about the underbelly exhaust of the 200 Duke (mostly on online blogs/forums) regarding doubts over it's performance in flooded areas.. concerns about how will the underbelly exhaust survive the water crossings/nullahs in "Leh / Laddakh" region or manage to ride through flooded streets during the monsoon.

Here is the breaking news: The KTM 200 Duke with it's underbelly exhaust can not only

[1] Wade through knee deep water, but..
[2] One can stop and idle the engine submerged and if need arises then..
[3] The engine can be switched off with the exhaust in water and restarted even after 30 mins (in submerged condition)

Don't believe me, just watch this test video posted below..

17 Suzuki Hayate Launched [Photos/Colors/Price]

Suzuki launches its entry level salvo with the 110 cc Hayate..

Unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo at New Delhi, Suzuki finially launched its 110 cc Hayate motorcycle today. This model marks Suzuki Motorcycle India's foray into the world of basic 100 cc commuter motorcycles. The other existing Suzuki India models namely the GS150R (150 cc) and the Slinghot (125 cc) despite being in the market for sometime now, has had very limited presence so far.

Can this new model turn around Suzuki India's fortunes in the motorcycle market..?? Difficult.. very difficult, I'll say. According to me, breaking the 100 cc code in India for Suzuki with the Hayate will be a very tough task.
