38 Bajaj Discover 125ST unveiled [Photos/Specs]

Bajaj unveils its Sporty Commuter, the Discover 125ST.. with a 4 Valve per cylinder engine and monoshock..!!

The commuter class bikes in India gets sportier with the launch of the new Discover 125 ST. The ST it seems stands for "Sports Tourer", not in the CBR250R, VFR1200 kind of way but more so from the perspective of an average Indian commuter.

What’s New in the new Discover 125 ST?

    1. India’s first 125 cc commuter bike to feature a 4 valve DTS-i engine
    2. India’s first 125 cc commuter bike to feature Monoshock Rear Suspension with Nitrox
    3. Completely new design

3 KTM 200 Duke can ride though Knee Deep Water with it’s Exhaust Submerged..!!

Unbelievable but true..!!

There was a slight murmur about the underbelly exhaust of the 200 Duke (mostly on online blogs/forums) regarding doubts over it's performance in flooded areas.. concerns about how will the underbelly exhaust survive the water crossings/nullahs in "Leh / Laddakh" region or manage to ride through flooded streets during the monsoon.

Here is the breaking news: The KTM 200 Duke with it's underbelly exhaust can not only

[1] Wade through knee deep water, but..
[2] One can stop and idle the engine submerged and if need arises then..
[3] The engine can be switched off with the exhaust in water and restarted even after 30 mins (in submerged condition)

Don't believe me, just watch this test video posted below..

17 Suzuki Hayate Launched [Photos/Colors/Price]

Suzuki launches its entry level salvo with the 110 cc Hayate..

Unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo at New Delhi, Suzuki finially launched its 110 cc Hayate motorcycle today. This model marks Suzuki Motorcycle India's foray into the world of basic 100 cc commuter motorcycles. The other existing Suzuki India models namely the GS150R (150 cc) and the Slinghot (125 cc) despite being in the market for sometime now, has had very limited presence so far.

Can this new model turn around Suzuki India's fortunes in the motorcycle market..?? Difficult.. very difficult, I'll say. According to me, breaking the 100 cc code in India for Suzuki with the Hayate will be a very tough task.

2 Making of the 2012 TVS Apache Series RTR: Promotional Video

Promotional video for the 2012 TVS Apache RTR..

Posted below is a video showcasing the new 2012 TVS Apache RTR, it's design details and philosophy behind it's design.

According to me, TVS could have skipped the elaborate promotion for the 2012 upgrade. Anyway does the video makes your heart skip a beat..??

P.S: I found the "countdown" display (4-3-2-1-GO) on the speedometer as the electronics of the bike does a self check kinda cute.

6 Apache RTR 160 Fi, Pulsar 220S, Platina 125, Passion Plus: Discontinued

A few models/variansts that have been discontinued.. "chupke se"

The following models/variants must have stopped arriving at the showrooms long back but they did appear on the official website of it's manufacturer. With the removal of information for the following models/variants from their respective official websites, their withdrawl/discontinuation now becomes official.

Hero removed details of the "Passion Plus" from its website when it became Hero MotoCorp from Hero Honda. A few weeks back Bajaj removed links to the "Platina 125" and "Pulsar 220S" and very recently TVS has removed it's fuel injected Apache RTR variant, the "Apache RTR 160 Fi" from it's website.

Looks like TVS had to ultimately follow Bajaj Auto by the way both has discontinued it's fuel injected models after it's much hyped launches. Why? Because you did not buy them.. that's why.
