2 Indonesia gets 2013 Ninja 250, Ninja 300 for UK. What for India? [Ninja 300: Video]

Australia, Canada, UK and probably the US will get the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Indonesia the 2013 Ninja 250.. So what's there in store for India?

Shocker No 1: The largest market for the Ninja 250 in the world currently is Indonesia..!! Hardly surprising why Kawasaki chose Indonesia to unveil the 2013 Ninja 250 (the "R" has been dropped). Surprising is the fact that Indonesia (the 3rd biggest 2 wheeler market in the world after China and India) is essentially a step thru & automatic scooter dominated country.

Shocker No 2: Get ready for the Ninja 300..!! Even before we could stop drooling over the uber sexy 2013 Ninja 250 and started daydreaming of Kawasaki bringing it over to India, a Ninja 300 will replace the Ninja 250R in the developed markets of UK, Canada, Australia and probably US as well.

ABS and Slipper Clutch for the Ninja 300

The new Ninja 300 will replace the Ninja 250R for the UK/Cananda/and probably the US market and is identical in looks to the 2013 Ninja 250 unveiled in Indonesia. The Ninja 300 gets a very important 50 cc engine capacity increase and bump in power and torque to 39 Ps and 27 Nm (up from 33 Ps and 22 Nm) over the Ninja 250R. The Ninja 300 also gets a “Slipper Clutch” apart from the optional ABS. A slipper clutch is a feature which controls rear wheel slide in case of (sporty) downshifting and is a feature which has so far been only seen on high performance and bigger bikes.

Posted below is the video of the new Kawasaki Ninja 300 which gives a detailed look at the new bike:

Kawasaki India Plans?

India might not be as big a market for the Ninja 250 like Indonesia but Kawasaki please replace the Ninja 250R the Ninja 300 in India. Also if the price is not hiked (at least for the Non-ABS variant), then the price for the Ninja 300 would now seem justified compared to how people currently weigh the Ninja 250R in terms of price along with cheaper models like the Honda CBR250R.

Wishful thinking? I just hope it is not.
