19 KTM 125 Duke, Official Specifications & Photos

Official specs and details of the KTM 125 Duke is out..!!

KTM has just made public the details of its 125 Duke on its website www.125duke.com The "baby" Duke will be available on sale in Europe by March 2011. India launch could be in the later part of 2011.

Liquid cooled engine, 4 Valves-DOHC, Fuel Injection, 185 mm Ground clearance, 43 mm dia USD (Upside Down) Front Forks, Chunky Swingarm, 150 mm Rear Tyre, Trellis Frame, Hydraulically Operated Clutch.

All this with a just a 125 Kg kerb weight..!!
Wow, the bike is straight out of my dreams in all its "naked" glory.

I only wish that India gets a bigger engine (the same way Honda makes the CBR125R for Europe and a bigger CBR150R for Thailand). In which case I could seriously look forward to having a KTM parked in my garage soon..!! Never mind if it's priced 1 lakh plus (which the KTM brand can and should command).

For those who are yet not aware, it is our own Bajaj Auto Ltd. which will be manufacturing these "Krazzy" KTM's in Pune..!!

The KTM 125 Duke looks all the bit how I would have liked the Mojo to look like. Compare the rake angle, for example, KTM 125 Duke has a lesser rake angle.

Also, it sports under slung exhaust (I commented that the Mojo also should have had the under slung exhaust instead of the 1*2 setup in XBhp), which would help it's torque figures immensely by cleaning up the gases much quicker.

Above all... look at the proportions!! Looks like a warrior chick in essentials ;)

nice...does Bajaj will produce it in Indonesia?
this is awesome 125cc bike.

if its in 1lakh i will sure buy it. if its above 1lakh i will go for mahindra mojo if its onroad price in 2.2lakh.

@Sajal, you are spot on about the proportions of the 125 Duke. The KTM 125 Duke is another piece of naked beauty one can admire for hours.

@Benny, lets pray that Bajaj also sells these bikes in countries where it is present.. including Indonesia.

@Athul, the Mojo will have it real tough as there is also a rumoured Honda 250 cc about to be launched in India. The KTM on the other hand completely stands apart from the rest of the crowd and will have its own fan following.

WOW, this bike is AWESOME. It looks great and not like anything on the planet. This is going to rock on Indian roads. Yeah, as Payeng said a 150cc engine would be great. This is the best looking bike I have ever seen for a 125cc bike. It definitely going to stay away from the rest. Common Bajaj launch it in India !! Its going to be the benchmark for others.

the price of pulsar 220cc is 84000 on road, this bike has to be near 70000 more expensive than this price, it wont work in india

As much as I'm attracted to this bike, I simply cannot logically pay 1 lakh+ for this bike.

Its a techno-wonder no doubt; but will it be practically better than my existing 220 cc bike? It does look damn gorgeous though.

There will be buyers, sure. I mean if R15 has buyers then so will this.

I think I'd drift towards the Honda. Lets see till the bike comes, of course.

The bike is sculpted to perfection!

I wonder why does it have to launch in Europe first and then here? Of course I know it's a European company and so on... Puts me off.

@Siddharth, "The bike is sculpted to perfection!"

Yep, you said it right bro.

@Ce$ar,

yes, the "only" 125 cc part might play in the minds of propective buyers in India.

Hi, i really doubt if the pics given above are the one of 125 CC bikes, another thing is that there are bikes which are priced around 60K with 150CC....like my Yamaha SZX 153 CC is 60K, y shud any one pay more just for good looks....lets try being smart and not go by looks..and as per my previous experience with BAJAJ, the engines of this company SUCKS...the engine go for rebore when reaches above 30K KMs...

Payeng said...

@above,

Yes the above pics and specs are of the 125 cc KTM 125 Duke.

Piston-Cylinder kit replacement are more common these days not engine reboring

By the way you sure do sound like a Bajaj hater that I know of :-)
Chill.. Bajaj engines aren't that horrible

state of the art , brilliant , but the 125 cc thing might give the indian a second thought , the specs no doubt are top notch , as a few others said 125 cc would it be better than my 220cc which is just for 84,000 . personally i m very much impressed and looking forward to buy it , but then the cost factor will be my key for a 125cc .

@Above,

Looks like you aren't aware that India is getting a 200 cc/25 bhp KTM 200 Duke and not the 125 Duke..!!
