Hero Honda gives the CD Deluxe and CD Dawn slight make up for 2010..
The "Splendor", which is priced above the CD Deluxe, still doesn't have "Self Start" and the CD Deluxe has it..
The news about "refreshed" 2010 CD Deluxe and CD dawn models was around since the beginning of this year. But the Hero Honda website did not show the changes till a couple of days back.
Posted below are the images of the 2010 Hero Honda CD Deluxe and CD Dawn models. The changes is mostly limited to "new stickers" and a "matt back finish" silencer. The CD Dawn does get a 2 way pre-load adjustable rear shock absorbers.
"Self Start" ("Power Start" in Hero Honda Lingo) is a feature which was already present in the older CD Deluxe as an option. The current price list in the Hero Honda website doesn't show the price for a "kick start only" model.. but at the same time the tech specs does show the kerb weight of a separate "kick only" model.
So is there a separate "kick start" CD Deluxe model? Or is the "self start" now a standard feature?
I am confused.
It is actually quite surprising that the "Splendor", which is a model priced above the CD Deluxe, still doesn't have "Self Start" even as an option. I can safely predict that the Splendor will soon get the Self Start feature in it's next upgrade.
Please let me know if you can find any other noticeable change in the two models. right now I am just too lazy / not motivated enough to personally check out these bikes.

CD with self start & Splendor dont!!! I also confused with HH strategy. Its seems to be like, HH itself wants Splendor to be downgraded with compares to CD. See the specification, see the advertisemnt campaines, even see the stickers on body, (I likes CD cosmetics much than stupid dumb stickers on new spendor. Still old spendour plain sticker looks elegent than new one,) CD enjoys the littlebit blue eyed boy position.
Why HH doing this with its best selling model? May be due to crashes with Honda?
Gautam.
Hero Honda is offering 4 variants for CD100:CD Deluxe Self-Alloy,CD Deluxe Self-Spoke,CD Deluxe Kick-Spoke and CD Dawn with pricing between Rs.38,000 to Rs.43,000.The most surprising fact is that Splendor Plus priced at Rs.48,000 with alloys as an option doesn't have self start even as an option.Splendor NXG which costs 1000 rupees less is offering Self and Alloys as standard.
Thanks a lot Raghavan for the info. The Splendor is an enigma which continues to roll on.
