17 Pulsar 135 LS DTS-i launched in Indonesia.. with a Redesigned Rear Fender..!!

Indonesia gets the "Baby" Pulsar 135LS with a better designed rear fender..

Bajaj has been exporting the Pulsar 180 and 200 to Indonesia for sometime now. Now Indonesia also gets the 4 Valve, "Baby" Pulsar 135LS DTS-i.

Should the Indian Pulsar 135LS also get the same Indonesian treatment..??

The bike was officially launched on 14'th April in Jakarta. The specs of the Pulsar 135LS for Indonesia is exactly the same as the model sold in India, but the Indonesian model gets a better looking rear end. More specifically the rear fender on the Indonesian model is a smart looking "split two piece + tyre hugger" design..!!

As can be seen from the photos, the rear portion of the Inonesian Pulsar 135LS looks lighter and sportier than the rear portion of the Indian Pulsar 135LS model. The Indonesian Pulsar 135LS also gets a sporty half chain cover (the current Indian Pulsar 135LS has a full chain cover).

Although I think that functionally a full chain cover makes more sense in our dusty Indian roads, but from a styling perspective, the half chain cover and the "split two piece rear fender + tyre hugger" design is more appealing.

I had previously mentioned that the rear fender design of the (Indian) Pulsar 135LS was sticking out like a sore thumb from an otherwise excellent design. With the Indonesian Pulsar 135LS, the design of the bike now seems complete. The entire bike now seems Sporty, Sharp, Edgy and Light..!!

Should the Indian Pulsar 135LS also get the same Indonesian treatment..?? I definitely think so. What do you think..??

i'll be honest here. i fall in love with the split tyre hugger!!:) i would say the rear fender move should be done on all pulsars, even the 220 one sticks out in way as far as design is concerned!!

Sexy!!! I agree with Gagan. All Pulsars should now sport a similar split tyre hugger design.

Indonesia provides potentially massive market for sport bikes, and this is what Bajaj - through Bajaj Auto Indonesia - has been targeting. since the market niche of sport bike increasingly grows in the country along with matic, Bajaj desires to dominate by, for example, accommodating what Indonesian bikers want, and thus the newly-designed-oonly-for-Indonesian-market Pulsar 135 LS is launched. now they expect the always-rumored-to-be-launched-soon P220, either the half-fairing or the naked one.

And this is the problem with India bike-makers. Why can't they anticipate that Indians might also desire such a design? What's the harm in providing Indians with such options?

To my mind, these bike-makers need to have serious one-on-one chats with the different types of bikers (and bike dreamers) that India has. Only then will their eyes will open. Only then they might understand their failures in thrilling the Indian biking fraternity...

Looks very sporty design. but in indonesian version, there is no engine guard ...

Hi, i'm Felix from indonesia. Maybe that new tire hugger is made in indonesia. So there is no such split TH in india. This is exactly the same with front disc brake version in xcd 125 for indonesia. Because it's unusual in indonesia for selling a sport bike such xcd with dumb brake. Different country need different treatment i believe.

I heard bajaj guys have given a complete rear type hugger because in india there is a rule that if the rear mudguards are removed the tyre hugger needs to cover the entire tyre

Can we manually remove the chain cover and add in a half chain cover from any other bike which has it? Like from the FZ16 or bigger Pulsars.

And also can we cut off the present full tyre hugger into this split design?
