Where do you get scoops like this?! Splendid!

as usual we Indians get second-hand treatment from our own company itself. Great.

This is bloody unfair!!!! why cant we have this bike for India!!!

I live in the UK. I would never buy an Enfield here. Simply because my idea of owning a bike is to have a means to travel. that said there are loads of world class touring/ enduro bikes here to choose from. something like the BMW 1200GS or a Triumph Tiger would be high on my list.

However, the fact remains- I am also an Indian. And I wish to return to India soon. And as soon as I address that fact and think back with nostalgia on the days when I scorched the roads of Delhi on a borrowed Royal Enfield, I cant wait to lay my hands on another thumper- and set out on a another ride of self discovery in my own country.

So there it is then- I would love to go home. I would love to own an Enfield there. Cos lets put it simply- no other machine can stake a claim to the deepest recesses of our great country as a Royal Enfield Bullet can. The only hitch here is that the Enfield I would love to own and ride through the deserts and mountains of India, is the Enfield thats available everywhere in the world except in India!

When will Indian bike manufacturers learn that its time to give Indians whats due to them!!!!

@Anonymous (above),

Royal Enfiled has recently launched the Bullet Electra 350 in India with the new engine.. it is 350 cc and doesn't have fuel injection though.

The 500 cc fuel injected engine can be found on the Classic 500 which is also in sale in India since Nov 2009.
