30 Bajaj Pulsar 200 C.C (More Pics/Images/Photos)

Posted below are pics of the new Bajaj 200 c.c DTSI which is on display in Mumbai. The pics were clicked by a few members of the XBhp.Com forum and posted on the same.

Without doubt the latest creation from Bajaj is one of the best looking bikes to be produced in the country.

Bajaj Pulsar 200
The newly added smart looking tank cowls performs the dual task of nestling the Oil Cooling Radiator and imparting the old Pulsar tank with a fresh, new and agressive look.

The "Phantom" headlamp has been carried over to the Pulsar 200 as well.

The 200 runs on on MRF Zappers and has an exposed chain drive.

The 200 has wide rear tyres (120/80 section 17", the Yamaha Enticer also had a 120 section rear tyre). Front tyre is 90/90 section 17'.

Hey Payeng, this is one cool bike man. Bajaj has truly upped the game with this one. Jus oen question though...
Are they gonna take the 'limited edition' tag seriously, like the Kinetic guys did with Comet and Aquila, or is it just a strategy. I'm asking because I've zeroed in on this bike. But the actual buy might not happen for another month.

What a beauty! I'm sure the new 200+cc pulsar twins r going to be the benchmark in performance motorcycles n India. I feel that the pulsars are to the Indian motorcycling industry, something like what The Mustang did to the American culture!

This is a performance segment. I feel that if they really want to flank Karizma on both sides they need to have a big difference in the bhp and/or capacity within the 2 motorcycles - granted one is with fuel injection, still. coz' the 180 is also a very good performer. In my opinion twith 180, 200 and 220 on offer the 200cc sales might suffer.

dobereinerr,

I am sorry but I did not get question.. I don't think the Pulsar 200 is a limited edition from Bajaj.

The only limited edition pulsar they have right now is the Orange/Mustard Colored Pulsar 180..

Aditya,

I think it all depends on the pricing of the 200 and the 220.. Bajaj definitely would not want any of the models to cannibalize each others sales..

I think Bajaj has deliberately kept the price difference between the 150 and 180 just by around Rs.2000...

Maybe this might allow Bajaj to price the 200 probably by around Rs.10,000... which should keep the sales of the 150/180 safe and still cost around Rs.5000 less than the Karizma (which right now is around Rs.15,000 more than the 180)...

The 220..?? Well, even if it is priced around Rs.5,000 plus than the Karizma, it would still eat into the sales of the Karizma... and it would also mean that the price difference between the 200 and the 220 would be another 10,000.. which would keep the 200 safe again.

Looks like the Munjals have many sleepless nights ahead..!!

One question...If pulsar is definetely male.. what are all those guys who "ride"it?...Lol...
jokes apart..it is a cool bike..the one which gives you an attitude...takes you back into time..makes you feel young...

Payeng said...

Quite right Sabu,

Bajaj has got the "Positioning Strategy" of the Pulsar spot on right from its introduction..

Most passionate bikers associate their bikes as extension of their personality... which full blooded male wouldn't like to have an attitude..??

Hi payeng...
I am very much impressed with ur work... keep it up.. And t upcomin pulser 200cc i think its gona hit t sales of 180cc pulser badly... wat ill b t mileage of 200cc... any idea....

Payeng said...

Prash,

thanks a lot for those encouraging comments.. no idea about the mileage buddy.. I am eagerly waiting for the 200 too

Cé$âr said...

i hear you dude. ur right. and now i also think that the 2000 re price difference between the 150 and 180 cc bikes will serve to topple the cbz extreme also (and the apache), as i understand the extreme is more of a performance 150cc.

whereas the 200 and 220 flanking the karizma will consoliate bajaj's position in the top segment for good.

hey guys da new pulsar 200cc is around 71000 on road n it gives around 38kmpl in city m 42kmpl on da highways
4 those who buy dis bike ,,,,,,guys just count da number of chicks staring at u.....its mindblowing...

Payeng said...

Hey Kartik..
Have you bought the P200 yourself..??

Dandy said...

Hello Guys,

I was really impressed with the looks of da new pulsar 200cc but the main issue which holds my steps back into buying it instantly is the absence of kick start. Could anyone explain me the reason for the same???? Wouldn't it affect the sales graph of this COOL bike??

Payeng said...

Dandy, the absense of the Kick Lever means that Bajaj has total confidence in its electric start...

Expensive Super Bikes (Even Harley Davidsons) don't have the kick lever, but just electric start..

Bajaj is postioning the P200 as a bike meant for the "Sheer Pleasure of Riding".. thats why they have purposefully omitted the Kick Start Lever... (imagine having to start cars by cranking a handle instead of turning a key..!!)

I don't think that will affect the sales of the P200 negatively.. because the target segment of the P200 are those consumers who will appreciate this move..

Hi everyone i bought pulsar 200cc on march 5 (i had booked it on march 1) in Bangalore. Well it cost me 74k and it's worth every penny. Although i might not test the bike's top speed right now (as it is new and need to ride below 45KMPH) but it has a great pick up.Whereever i go i get a second look and people tend to enquire about the bike. All in all great value for money.

Hey Everyone, I saw the Pulsar 200 at the bajaj showroom in Mumbai at it was love at first site!! i booked the bike on the spot on the 5th of march and have been promised a delivery within 1 - 1 1/2 months time i wanted a blue one but the exec told me that bajaj has not started manufacturing the blue color yet so decided to book the red one.....it cost me a total of 74 Grands and i feel the looks are definately worth the price!! .... in so eagerly waiting for the bike ...am just a lil worried about what milage it might give but that all just goes off my mind as soon as i look at the beauty!! ...im sure it will meet my expectations ...:) guys dont miss the 200 in lue of the 220 coz its not all that great as compared to the 200 as bajaj has taken the ferring part overboard with the 220 and has mucked up the look of the bike. so go for the 200 its awesome!!

4 months since this article's been published, I'm still waiting to take a look at the 200. Bought the 180 6 months ago, and i feel conned now :( Had no clue this was coming up. And people, be careful, my 180 UGIII's electric start has gone bad twice, the digi meter has also given rather erratic readings,so the absence of a kick start, (not wanting to sound like an amateur imbecile) does worry me though.

HI Guyz,

I am planning to buy a bike in this navratra. Lemme know should i go for 180, 200 or the simple 150. I am not opting for 220 as it costs just too much for me and also, i didnt find it as sexy as 200 / 180.

shud i go for 180 or 200 ?

if something else, is good then do leme know...

ill be thankfull to all of ya !!

Cheers ;)
